Roach Control Products and Information Does your kitchen floor seem to come alive at night? Do you
see roaches out in the open during the day?
You may have a
roach infestation. Welcome to our website. Roach control or
killing cockroaches can be quite a chore, especially when
dealing with a large infestation. There are numerous products
available in today's market that aim to make roach control
easier. Listed on this page and throughout this website are
some consumer reviews of products, tips and information
that you may find useful in your roach control efforts.
Dead-Fast Insecticide Chalk
Last year I was browsing through Longs Drugs and at the end
of one of the aisles was a Dead-Fast kiosk with a video
presentation. The person in the video was using a stick
of chalk to draw lines in various areas of the home to
control roaches and ants. After a few minutes of watching the
video, I was sold. I bought 2 sticks. That same evening, I
applied the chalk as instructed to key areas in the kitchen.
Underneath the sink area, along the cabinet base boards, etc.
The following morning, the results were immediate. There were
at least a dozen dead roaches scattered across the kitchen
floor. The Dead-Fast chalk also worked well with ant
control.
Combat Roach Killing Gel
I recently went to Wal-Mart looking to pick up some roach
control products and came accross the Combat Roach Killing
Gel. In the past I had mostly used the Combat bait stations for
roach control. First of all the Combat bait stations
smell, sometimes my toddler aged kids would find them and for
the most part I could never tell if it was really working. The
Combat Roach Killing Gel looked promising. I bought both the
Roach and Ant gels. No smell and the syringe style
applicator was easy to use. I pushed out a few lines underneath
the oven and fridge and along the cabinet base
boards. Keep a paper towel handy cause the gel flow takes
awhile to stop after dispensing. In the late evening I
would usually see roaches darting back and forth from
underneath the oven and fridge. After applying the gel,
nothing. So far so good.
Hoy Hoy Trap-A-Roach sticky pads
Sticky pads are a classic roach and pest control solution.
They are non toxic and can be placed almost anywhere. Although
the home is usually the focus when it comes to roach control,
the family car is not immune especially with young kids and
their crumb trail eating habits. I actually have a small
roach infestation in the family minivan and sticky pads have
been working great. Most sticky pads come with bait, but I find
goldfish crackers seem to work better. I placed a couple of
these sticky traps in the front and a pair in
the rear of my minivan and the next morning every trap had
roaches. I definately dont see as many roaches as before, but I
still keep a few sticky traps in the minivan as a preventive
measure.
Boric Acid Powder
Derived from naturally occurring borax and first registered
as an insecticide in the early 1940's, boric acid in powder
form has been a popular roach control remedy for decades. The
reason for its popularity is that it works. Boric powder is
best applied to areas of high roach traffic like underneath or
behind refrigerators, ovens and sinks. Make sure to sprinkle
boric acid only in areas that are not easily accessible to
young children or pets. Boric acid is abrasive to the
exoskeleton of a cockroach and is also a stomach poison that
not only affects roaches but ants, termites and
silverfish.
